final presentation pictures

For my final selection I went through all my past development shoots. I then selected the images that I thought incorporated the styles of my chosen photographers as well as the images that convey the theme of mental illness which is what I chose to explore in this project. All of my images are black and white as this is something my photographers do and something that is apart of my style of photography. The images consist of a mixture of still life, portraiture and landscape photography. The different genres portray the different aspects of mental illness, something I aimed to do within this project. As well as conveying the inner turmoil of someone with a mental illness, I also wanted to show how they may view the world as well as the way in which it can affect their lives such as the way they live, something I have done in the still life images. The portraiture images portray the aspect of inner turmoil and the landscape show how someone with a mental illness may see the world around them.

I then decided to refine my final selection, taking out some images and adding some images. I chose to do this as in my previous selection there were a few repeats that didn't need to be there. So I put the images together that were similar and chose one out of the selection. As a result there are now 17 images for my final selection however, they are now better selected and portray mental illness in a more concise, neat manner. There is still a selection of still life, portraiture and landscape images as they best portray the different aspects of mental illness.
